RELOCATED! Observe Birds and Draw Trees at Ragle Ranch

February 10, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

ATTENTION: we are going with our PLAN B and heading to California Carnivores to nature journal because of rainy conditions. California Carnivores 2833 Old Gravenstein Hwy Sebastopol, CA 95472 phone: 707-824-0433

In February, the North Coast Nature Journal Club will be visiting the mixed oak woodland of Ragle Ranch Park in Sebastopol. This accessible park is an incredible place for drawing charismatic old oak trees while also observing bird behavior up close. Lessons will include tree-drawing tips and insights into bird language for naturalists. Bring sketching and watercolor supplies, binoculars, and a potluck lunch to share. Layered clothing, and a foldable chair or stool might also be useful. Be prepared to enjoy nature and learn with like minded people.

We will not be hiking long distances and we will be using paved paths so this trip is wheelchair or cart friendly.

We will meet at 10am near the playground at the entrance to the park. There is a $7 parking fee or you can park outside the entrance. Look for people standing around with sketchbooks near the playground. Potluck lunch around 12:30.

If it is raining we will relocate to California Carnivores: 2833 Old Gravenstein Hwy, Sebastopol, CA 95472

$20 suggested donation. No one turned away for lack of funds.
