Nature journaling San Diego? Come learn the basics and practice with other nature journalers in Balboa Park. We will go to the desert garden across from the San Diego Zoo and Natural History Museum where we can sketch, watercolor, and enjoy the diversity of cool plants and even animals. Marley will teach nature journaling techniques and explain some basic botany. You can meet other sketchers and nature journalers from the area and help grow nature journaling San Diego.<\/p>\n
Parking is available along Park Blvd and across the street at the Natural History Museum Parking Lot. We will meet where the footbridge crosses Park Blvd on the Cactus and Rose Garden side. Look for people standing around with sketchbooks.<\/p>\n
Access and Mobility: We will stick mostly to paved cement walkways. The foot bridge that crosses Park Blvd is kind of steep but it is smooth. Scooters or mobility chairs should be fine. If you are in a wheelchair I can help push you if needed. There are paths on decomposed granite that meander through the plants. These paths may be suitable for some people but we will mostly stick to the paved ones. There are benches in good locations. There are some shade options but it is mostly sunny. The only bathrooms are across the street at Balboa Park.<\/p>\n
Bring: Comfortable clothes, hat, sunglasses, and shoes for outdoors, water and a snack. Basic nature journaling supplies in a easy to carry bag.<\/p>\n
