Did you ever draw compass roses as a kid? Do you include the cardinal directions in your nature journal pages today?
Today’s Prompt: Cardinal directions, two minute sketch each direction
The prompt for today was another one that was proposed by a member of the nature journal club facebook group. The idea was attributed to Kate Rutter. I can’t confirm this but it sounds like one of her cool ideas. You can see more of Kate Rutter’s work here.
Kate, if you are reading this, please confirm. Regardless of who developed the initial idea, it is fun and novel. I have never done anything like this. I’m going to go on the roof of a tall building and do it. All you have to do is face north for two minutes and do a sketch. Rotate to the east and do a two minute sketch. And so on until you do all 4 directions. Fun right?
It is my last day living in the city of Quito Ecuador. Soon, I will be back in the rain forest. That means I will have intermittent internet and won’t be posting everyday! Stay tuned on my instagram for more frequent updates.
