Nature Journaling Challenge: Day One

nature journaling challenge

Today is the first day of September and the first day of the Wild Wonder Nature Journaling Challenge!

Today’s Prompt: “Write about your nature journaling intentions for September”

What do you want to do with your nature journaling practice over the next 30 days? Do you want to have fun, do you want to learn as much as possible, do you want to try new things? For today’s prompt just sit down in a cozy spot with your nature journal for a chunk of uninterrupted time. Spend some time thinking about and writing your intentions. This can be really short like what I did above. It could be a dialog with questions. It could be a stream of consciousness. You could include sketchnoting, mindmapping or doodling as part of the process. Maybe meditate for a few minutes or go for a walk in nature first.

Starting with intentions

It is always a good idea to start with intentions and this month is no exception. For exmaple, if you are going to the Wild Wonder Nature Journaling Conference this month, or not, it is good to know what your intentions are. This will help you set goals and make decisions that are in alignment with what you want to do.

Is this not the kind of nature journaling you are used to? Don’t worry, tomorrow we will dive in with more color!

Here is the complete challenge in case you have not printed it out yet or saved it on your computer.
